These past few months, the Expo team has worked hard towards providing more and more features and bug fixes to their toolchain. They are one of the pillars of the community, having created a super useful React Native playground, and an environment that allows developers to write awesome React Native apps, without ever touching any native code. Now, they built a powerful CLI GUI tool to supplement Expo apps, in order to help you speed up your development even more. Check it out!
The team at Callstack.io, one of the biggest React Native shops out there and React Native maintainers, are big fans of Reason, an alternative to TypeScript and Flow using OCaml. In this announcement, they express their intentions to lower the barrier for newcomers to use Reason with React Native, by working on a new library called Rebolt. Although at the moment, it's just a fork of another library with Reason bindings for React Native, they have big plans for it, which they haven't yet announced.
Although I haven't tried Reason myself, checking it out is definitely on my to-do list, and I'm grateful to them for making it easier for newbies to Reason, like me, to get started with it!
